ETD The high rate of accidents in Indonesia due to human resources railway operators, infrastructure at railway crossings sign, and the lack discipline of road users, while recorded in area of Yogyakarta and Central Java Daops VI contained 508 railway crossing, 380 cases in middle Java, 122 cases in DIY, and many railways sign are not maintained in other areas, this is due to the high cost of installation and doorstops maintenance, including human resources for operational costs. To solve this problem we need an alternative for crossing railway sign which doesn't have doorstop with a low cost and efficient and also be used for additional security at train crossings which already have a doorstop to increase security. Automatic railway crossing signs consists of the sender, receiver, and communication media. Sender component consists of a series of sensors that can detect the presence of trains it consist motion detection sensors and vibration as well as Arduino that serves as a data processor. Receiver component consists of a countdown time displays and indicator lights of sign post where train comes. It serves as a railway crossing signs with Arduino as a data processor. Media Wireless communication using Ethernet Shield which is supported by the Wireless Access Point. This automatic railway crossing sign can be developed further to reduce the rate of accidents at railway crossings either crossing railway sign that already have doorstop or crossing railway which do not have crossing doorstop.
