Description
Summary:DKI Jakarta as the capital city of Indonesia has extremely high transportation movement and raises so many problems, one of this problem is traffic jam. Therefore in 2004 DKI Jakarta provincial government creating road-based public transportation called TransJakarta, until 2014 TransJakarta has had 12 corridors. Among those twelve corridor, there is one corridor which has the lowest number of passenger and that is corridor 10, consisting of 22 shelters stretching from Tanjung Priok to Cililitan. This study aims to (a) map the distribution of shelter locations, (b) examines the effectiveness level from each shelter based on passenger generation and attraction zone using GIS method, (c) understanding passenger attraction zone land use on highly effective shelter as GIS assumption for future location recommendation. The method used to achieve research goal is descriptive analysis and survey using incidental sampling. Data processing performed by scoring method, wherein each of supporting variable is given capacity value, then calculation and classification done based on the level of trip generation and trip attraction. Obtained result from this study shows (a) corridor 10 of TransJakarta lies on 15 villages, 9 districts and 3 municipalities, (b) the results of the shelter effectiveness level shows 4 shelters are very effective, 14 shelters are effective and 4 shelters ineffective. Low passengers rate in TransJakarta corridor 10 is caused by the scattered transport options along the route and it is overlapping with toll road, (c) passenger attraction zone for the very effective shelters is business and services district.
