The research uses Abrams�s expressive approach. Using library research method, data from reliable sources are used as supporting data in the process of analyzing phrases and direct quotes taken from that particular piece of literary work. The research finds that H. G. Wells gives social criticism towards inequality between the ruling class and working class during England 19th century in his work, The Time Machine.
