Summary: | Fodder plays an important role for dairy cattle in providing the health
insurance, facilitating of growth and fulfillment of optimal reproducibility. Shortage
of fodder for the tropics is one of the causes of reduced the efficiency of reproduction
because it is always followed by a disorder of reproduction. The scientific study
aimed to determine the effect of the fodder on the long of estrus, estrus cycle and
calving intervals of dairy cattle. Research conducted in UPTD BPBPTDK of the
agriculture department in DIY with the number of 22 tails of cattle. This scientific
study conducted by use interviewing method and direct observation. The data
obtained, among others: the estrous cycle, duration of estrus, calving interval, SKT
(body condition score), content of concentrate, amount of forage, and mineral
content. The results obtained are: estrous cycle 26 +- 7.72 days, duration of estrus
15.37 +- 6.2 hours, and calving interval 14.5 +- 5.14 months. Based on the default,
the estrous cycle and birth spacing is not accordance with the standards while the
duration of estrus still in the normal range. From the data can be concluded that the
fodder influences quality of reproductive performance in cattle. Shortages of fodder
directly will affect of the lack of protein, whereas the protein serves to produce
hormones in the body, it includes the reproductive hormones. The shortages of protein
cause lack of reproductive hormones so that it will cause disorders of reproduction as:
silent heat and disorder of Ovarium. |
