Summary: | The goal of this study was to evaluate the optimum stocking density on giant
gouramy of the seventh segmentation and to evaluate level of variation of growth on giant
gouramy of the seventh segmentation. The giant gouramy was 210 days old, or weight and
body length was 101.62 gram and 18.42 cm. This research was conducted at Fisheries
Station Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Gadjah Mada University, in 200 x 100 x 100 cm
cages with a volume of 1200 liters water for 30 days. The experimental method used in this
research was completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications.
Stocking density treatments were: 15 fishes/1000 liters, 25 fishes/1000 liters, 35
fishes/1000 liters and 45 fishes/1000 liters. Fish were fed pellet twice daily with 3 % of
total biomass. Observation was done to measure weight, length and tall. The observed
variables were the coefficients of variance, absolute growth rate, specific growth rate,
condition factors, food converse ratio and survival rate. The result showed that stocking
density did not influence absolute growth rate, specific growth rate, condition factors, food
converse ratio and survival rate. Variations of growth of giant gouramy for all of treatment
were high diversity. |
