Description
Summary:Concrete is a construction material that is very important and the most predominantly used in building structures. Concrete got a special place in the world of construction, development of technological innovation goes very fast. This study tries to apply the bacteria as a medium that could help close the cracks in the concrete with a very long duration, the concept is the use of Bacillus bacteria in the encapsulation hidrogel. The aim of this research the addition of Bacillus subtilis bacteria types in hydrogel encapsulation can close the effect that occurs in concrete when the bacteria are coated broke due to cracks and closed cracks back on the concrete. The method used is the encapsulation of hydrogel by means of mixing bacteria CMC (Carboxy Methyl Cellulose) and lined by Resen Acrylic sc 1 in the form of pellet, put into a mixture of concrete as a addictive material substance. Tests were conducted to determine the flexural strength test on concrete strength and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) test to depict the content of bacteria in the cracks in the concrete. The conclusion of this study is to test the concrete flexural strength gain maximum value occurred in the percentage of non-concrete material using a mixture of hydrogels, when using the hydrogel bacterial mixture value flexural strength test results on testing the smaller and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) hydrogels bacteria closes with a duration of 3 days it is just not significant, requiring more time than that to get the desired results.
