Summary: | Height and diameter growth of teak is important part in dry/critical land
rehabilitation. Wanagama I is critical land with low rainfall, which cause teak often
experience growth stagnation. Therefore, it is necessary an innovation by giving hydrogel
to deal with the problem. In climatology term, average rainfall Gunung Kidul is 1,720.86
mm/year with amount of rain day 115 per year. Wet month is 4-6 months, while dry month
4-6 months. Objective of this research was to identify effect of giving hydrogel on 4 month
teak in Wanagama I with various dosages.
This research used Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) by
administering hydrogel in various dosages: control, 2.5 g/plant, 7.5 g/plant, and 10 g/plant.
There were 7 blocks (repetitions) and each treatment consist of 4 treeplots. Data was
collected once thirty days with total time for data collection was 180 days. Variables
observed and measured is height and diameter growth. Then, the data is calculated and
analyzed.
Height growth, diameter growth and living percentage were not significantly
different among treatments. Highest Height growth was in hydrogel dosage of 7.5 g/plant,
while the greatest diameter growth and highest living percentage (86%) was in dosage of 5
g/plant. |
