| Summary: | The seriousness of Trenggalek regency in fisheries potential management can be seen from the development planning of Prigi Nusantara Fishing Port. In this case, in addition to the major role of the Government, community involvement is much needed. Therefore, this research aims a) to know the policy of local governments in order to support the development of PPN being PPS, b) to know the public perception towards the development and the factors that determine this perception, c) to know the development orientation of the port that agree with government policy and public perception.
This research using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Qualitative methods were used to analyze the government's policy orientation, with the technique of data collection through in depth interview of the key person. And quantitative methods were used to measure public perception towards the development of the port, with data collection technique used the questionnaire to 100 people as sample, and then processed using SPSS.
The results of this research indicate that the government gives many supports to the fishing port development through the preparation of the orientation which spelled out in document RTRW No.15 in 2012. Meanwhile, based on the results of research related to public perception towards the development of the port, there are some important points that must be considered, such as the need for additions related aspects of community involvement in the development, management of environmental port, supporting facilities and infrastructure improvements to the port, the coordination of government agencies, and the preparation of human resources for fisherman. |
