Description
Summary:Cassava starch (tapioca) is one of cassava product that can be treated to be dextrin. Dextrin is usually used fo r paper adhesive. A cigarette manufacture industry in Kudus, wants to replace the use of a mixture of tapioca and corn starch as an adhesive for cigarette paper with only tapioca as a base of adhesive. This study aims to investigate the characteristics of dextrin made from tapioca by acid hydrolysis, and investigate the adhesion strength of dextrin as an adhesive substitution of a mixture of tapioca and corn starch in cigarette paper. In this research, the hydrolysis process using hydrochloric acid (HCl) with various concentration of 0.5 N
