| Summary: | Straw in Indonesia is widely used as a semen storage cow. Researchers often use as a storage tube fresh semen. Previous researchers report shows the influence of variations in the quality of sperm storage. This study was conducted to determine the quality of spermatozoa cows kept in straw and tubes. Fresh semen collected from bulls kept in straw and tubes. The research method starts from a collection of semen, semen dilution, storage at temperatures 4-5oC in tubes (cryotubes) and 0.25 ml of straw size, and sperm quality checks include motility, and normal morphology of living dead for 8 days. Data analysis was performed with the independent t-test. Motility examination results showed that on day 7th and 8th there was significant difference. Test results showed that the living dead spermatozoa from day 4th to day 8th there was significant difference. Spermatozoa were stored in a tube having a percentage of living and motility higher than sperm stored in the straw. Packaging tube with a narrow surface area to create a more stable microenvironment and able to adapt to drastic temperature changes of the packing straw. No significant differences occurred in the abnormality examination, the spermatozoa are stored in the tube and straw. |
