One of the advantages of steel is its high number of elasticity modulus, which result to high value of stiffness. Nevertheless, there are some of steel properties that need to be taken into consideration in steel truss design in order to provide structural safety, for instance critical buckling value, tensile strength, compression strength, shear capacity, connector, etc.
This final assignment discuss about software creation for steel truss design based on RSNI 03-1729.1-201X code. The software is able to calculate axial forces of structural members, as well as for steel section design and number of connector required. Besides, this software also can analyze structural capacity due to predefined section, calculate structure self-weight, and to design joint dimension. Provisions that are used in this software are LRFD both ASD.
Validation result shows maximum relative error of 0.12% for axial force calculation, 0.05% for structure displacement calculation, 6% for tension member analysis, 8.7% for compression member analysis, and 0.00% for joint design. This software aims at helping user to design or analyze structure to ensure safety of the design. |
