Summary:Introduction : Medical tourism is a new form of tourism and medical services with the health services as expected to a certain area. In an effort to the development of health systems and the impact of competition and globalization of health, does not rule out the possibility that the medical tourism poses a stiff competition among hospitals in providing quality products and superior services provided by the hospital in attracting patients come for treatment. So that became a phenomenon of medical tourism to the BaliMéd hospital specialists who have a complete and advanced medical technology as a necessity for the development of medical tourism. Objective : This study aims to the understanding of the BaliMéd hospital in Denpasar, governments, and service providers (travel agent) of medical tourism then explores the potential for the development of medical tourism in the BaliMéd hospital Denpasar. Methods : This study is a case study with a single case design. Respondents were from the BaliMéd Hospital Denpasar, the government health department and the department of tourism and tourism service providers as a travel agent. Data obtained by means of interviews with the respondents through in-depth interviews using interviews and document review guidelines. Data obtained from interviews and review of documents processed using pattern matching is one strategy that is often used for data analysis with the initial pairing patterns. Results and Discussion: Understanding BaliMéd Hospital Denpasar, PERSI, government and tourism service providers regarding medical tourism is still partial. Based on the potential for the development of medical tourism which owned the BaliMéd Hospital Denpasar in terms of cost, accreditation, quality of care, availability of health personnel and the type of treatment, treatment access, and marketing in general is not enough to have the potential to develop medical tourism. Government regulation of travel agents and the response is very important in supporting medical tourism. Conclusion : Understanding of medical tourism by governments, BaliMéd Hospital Denpasar, PERSI and travel agents have understood but in general. BaliMéd Hospital Denpasar not enough to have a potential impact on the development of medical tourism. The Government regulation in terms of medical tourism at the BaliMéd Hospital Denpasar very important role as the policy makers and not available regulations that govern it. Response Travel agent supports the development of medical tourism at BaliMéd Hospital Denpasar
