Assembly line balancing is a problem assigning operation to workstations along a assembly line, in such a way that the assignment be optimal in some sense (Falkenauer, 2005). Line balancing performance is controlled by number of work station and efficiencies (Heizer & Render, 2011). Theoretically, number of work Station and labors is developed based on production rate per hour or cycle time in a desired efficiency (Groove, 2008). Contextual issue picks up from interview with factory manager who subjectively assign number of workstation and labors based on the past performance. This Research lift gap between the theoretical and contextual issue in order to analyze the performance of line balancing and the effect of labor cost base on company method and alternative method used
