The purpose of this study was to determine antioxidant activities and the group of secondary metabolites compounds that act as antioxidants in jengger ayam leaves and flowers extract. Total phenolic content and total flavonoid was measured. The antioxidant activities measured by DPPH test. The highest extract was fractionated by six eluents. The compound groups of fraction that had low IC50 value was identified by TLC method using a spray reagent FeCl3 and sitroborat. Total phenolic content measured by Folin-Ciocalteu method. Total flavonoid content was measured by alumunium chloride (AlCl3) colorimetric method. The results showed that the highest antioxidant activities observed on methanol extract of flowers (IC50 954,99 μg/ml). Ethyl acetate fraction of 100% and 100% methanol fraction had low value of IC50, ie 852,31 ug / ml and 726,61 ug / ml. The compound groups identified were phenolic compounds and flavonoids.
