Summary: | This research focuses on community resilience in disaster prone area especially Indonesian villages which implemented disaster resilient village policy. The Indonesian disaster resilient village policy divides villages into 3 categories: advance resilient village, intermediate resilient village and basic resilient village. There are some aspects to determine whether a village called resilience to disaster. Those aspects are: risk legislation, planning, institutional, funding, capacity building, and disaster management implementation.
By using proposed indicators of community resilience which are capacity to anticipate, capacity to rebuild itself, and capacity to learn from the experiences, resulted that predicate as advance resilient village is not a warranty the community in the village have better resilience than community in intermediate resilient village. The community in advance resilient village intermediate resilient village in this study has better community resilience than community in advance resilient villages.
The factors promotes community resilience are social capital, religious beliefs, and the role of local government. A village which has better community resilience is because social capital, religious beliefs and the role of local government have a significant relation. The village which has lower community resilience is because not all of the factors have a significant relation.
