Summary: | This research was conducted to observe the use of forage to reduce endoparasite in goat raised by farmers. Endoparasite observed was the Coccidiocyst that frequently found in goat that usually kept in the pens, as result of low quality of pens sanitation. In which is frequently happened in farmer level. These research used 12 male dab 12 female goats which were given King grass as single diet (K), and King grass supplemented by 220 g DM dried cassava leaves (T1), and King grass supplemented by 515 g DM (T2). The treatment was replicated 8 times (4 male and 4 female goats). Coccidia's oocysts were observed from feces taken directly from goat's rectum. Results showed that population of Coccidia's oocysts usually lower in males goat than females goat. Population of those oocysts in K was higher than T1 and T2, i.e.: 4536, 1442, and 723, repectively. The use of dried cassava leaves reduced population of Coccidia's oocysts in the feces significantly. From the T1 and T2 digestibility of fiber fraction (NDF and ADF) increased (P<0.01) significantly compared to K diet, but not in CP fraction. Besides that, supplemetation of King grass as single feed did not influence nutrient consumption and digestibility on male nor demale ones. It can be concluded that the dried cassava leaves can be used as anti-parasite of Coccidia at farmer level. |
