Pengaruh pemberian cadmium klorida (CdCl2) selama 4 minggu terhadap berat badan, hati dan ginjal tikus
ABSTRAK The effect of cadmium, fed as CdC12, to rats as measured by growth retardation and disfunction of liver and kidneys has been carried out in an experiment. Four group of rats, vis I-IV, were given diet containing 0%, 0.1%, 0.5% and 1% CdC12 respectively, for a period of 28 days. The quantity...

The quantity of fed consumed and the body weight of rats were weighed by using a tripple beam balance and evaluated once a week. Serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) and creatinine levels, besides hemoglobin concentration, were spectrophotometrically determined at 340, 546 and 540 nm wave length respectively. By using an atomic adsorption spectrophotometer the concentration of Cd in liver and kidneys were ascertained. The effect of Cd to those two organs were evaluated histologically at the end of the experiment. The results of the experiment are as follows: 1. The quantity of feed consumed by rats in group II, III and IV decreased 11.12%, 47.54% and 86.64% respectively, during the third week. But, it qould increase with 86.64%, 39.63% and 84.13% respectively in the fourth week. 2. The body weight of rats in group II and III decreased since in the third week and since the first week for rats in group IV. There was no correlation between the quantity offeed consumed and the body weight of rats in group I, II, III and IV. 3. The accumulation of Cd in liver and kidneys had no toxically effect on those two organs. 4. Histologic examination on the liver and kidneys of rats in group II, III and IV revealed no alterations. Four group of rats, vis I-IV, were given diet containing 0%, 0.1%, 0.5% and 1% CdC12 respectively, for a period of 28 days. The quantity of fed consumed and the body weight of rats were weighed by using a tripple beam balance and evaluated once a week. Serum
glutamic pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) and creatinine levels, besides hemoglobin concentration, were spectrophotometrically determined at 340, 546 and 540 nm wave length respectively. By using an atomic adsorption spectrophotometer the concentration of Cd in liver and kidneys were ascertained. The effect of Cd to those two organs were evaluated histologically at the end of the
experiment.
The results of the experiment are as follows:
3. The accumulation of Cd in liver and kidneys had no toxically effect on
those two organs.
4. Histologic examination on the liver and kidneys of rats in group II, III and IV revealed no alterations.
