Description
Summary:The main structural property of concrete is compressive strength that was exerted to be as high as possible. In the certain structures, it does not only use high compressive strength, but also need high strength in the tensile, flexure, and impact, and durable in the abrasion condition, for example the top of spillway, SABO structure, etc. In order to reach high quality of the properties, it was tried by addition of Harex Steel Fibres imported by PT. Kurniapower Abadi to the concrete mixes. Five types of specimen were made in this research (one type of normal concrete and 4 types of concrete with fibre content of 0.2780 %, 0.3475 %, 0.4170 %, and 0.4865 %), which were tested after 28 days. Concrete was designed with VS7C specification and water cement ratio of 0.45. The test results showed that the addition of Harex Steel Fibres decreased the workability of concrete mixes, but on the otherhand increased compressive strength of 17.5848 MPa (no fibre content) up to 19.3011 MPa (0.4865 % fibre content), increased abrasion resistance of 0.251 mm3/cm2 (no fibre content) up to 0.228 mm3/cm2 (0.4865 % fibre content), and increased impact resistance.
