Description
Summary:ABSTRACT For many .purposes it may be important to produce maps of rainfall . variability. If simple methods are used, the computations may be done on a pocket calculator or a micro computer. This paper is submitted from the result of an experiment in mapping of rainfall data based on statistical calculation, Central Java area which is chosen as a case study, and techniques of isoline is applied. Variability of rainfall in Central Java is clear due to the variability of its physiographic condition. Allan Brown (FTC), when several years ago worked at Faculty of Geography UGM has supported many things including to aid is statistical calculation. One conclusion is, that for this area the commonly used technique of an isoline map of the coeficient variation is less suitable than some of the other methods described. Probability maps give a good impression of the rainfall variability in this area.
