Description
Summary:ABSTRACT The development of water resources in a river catchment area needs a series of data that are relatively long, either rainfall and discharge data. Sugawara (1984) has found and developed a mathematical model that was recognized as the tank model for predicting the amount of flow from the catchment area. The tank model applied in this study has nine parameters fitted to the catchment area conditions of Ngrancah river at Sermo Dam, located at the Sermo village, Kokap, Kulon Progo. Nine parameters of the tank model was optimized by Powell method. Powell method was very usefull for optimizing the nine parameters of the tank model and obtained results were reasonable and applicable to explain the series discharge from the catchment area of Ngrancah river at Sermo dam.
