Summary:ABSTRAK The objective of this research is to investigate the influence of the T82 heat treatment of Al 6013 transversal and longitudinal butt joints with a TIG method on the fatigue crack growth rate. The T82 heat treatment was varied in three aging times, nantely 6. 18 and 24 hours. The treated of Al 6013 transversal and longitudinal butt joints were then tested for their fatigue crack growth rates at the base metal, the heat-affected zone (HAZ), and the joint metal zone using CT and CCT specimen. The test was perforated at the conditions of 15-20% stress levels, the load frequency of 5-11Hz, and the stress ratio (R) of 0.3. The tensile test was also carried out in order to support the fatigue data. The results of fatigue crack growth rate tests show that the treated Al 6013 with 18 hours aging time has the highest fatigue resistance for both type of specimens. The longitudinal butt joint has the Paris' Constant of C = 1.95 x 104° and n = 3.63. Similarly, the transversal butt joint has the Paris' Constant of C = 2.21 x 10-� and n = 3.63.
