Summary:ABSTRAK Serino dam, which has been operated since 1997 was purposed to supply the water demand of Clereng, Pengasih and Pekikjamal irrigated areas, domestic water supply and flushing water of Wates town. Due to the operation failure, a review towards the dam operation is required in order to obtain an excellent performance on its operation system. In this study, optimization method is applied using dynamic program. Water' balance of the command area is presented on a mathematical model. The model consist of the objective function, the decision variable and constraint fiuictions. The objective function is to minimize the deviation between the irrigation water supply and demand, with the decision variable of the reservoir releases on every stage. The constraint functions are the maximum and mininzum condition of the dam capacity and releases. The analysis result shows that the reservoir operation of Clereng, Pengasih and Pekikjamal irrigated area is in optimal condition on the first cultivation season of paddy-paddy-palawija pattern, which starts on November 23 � 25. The crop intencity is 258.2 % or equivalent to 10011 ha. Keywords: DAM, air waduk, DAS
