Description
Summary:Leaf spot disease on Ampupu (Eucalyptus urophylla) plantation was the most important disease in Indonesia recently. The disease caused several defoliation and poor growth or even death of the trees. This study was conducted to evaluate the resistancy of the ampupu provenance trial plantation against the leaf spot disease. A provenance trial plantation of Ampupu at Tapak Sebulu, Samarinda (age 3 years, 24 provenances) was analyzed for its score of disturbance of the canopy, disease intensity and its indications of resistancy level against leaf spot disease. Those provenances were tested in Randomized Block Design with 6 replications, 4 lines tree plots and 3.5 x 3, 5 m spacing. Based on the score of disturbance of the canopy, provenance of Wasbilla from Pantar island was the worst (3.99) and provenance of Hatuloi from Wetar island was the best (2.47). Based on the disease intensity, provenance of Mutis from Timor island was the worst (66.93 %), and provenance of Hatuloi from Wetar island was the best (40.48 %). The result of the level of resistency showed that 3 provenances indicated rather susceptible (namely Wasbilla, Mutis dan Aden) and 21 provenances were indicated moderate (namely Dare, Timau, Kalabahi, Mandiri, Balibar, Sokaria, Egon, Ulubaha, Lewotobi, Sirung, Kerbau, Wukoh, Lewerolc, Delaki, Remexio, Bolen& Tebalvali, Lakaan, lllilaku, Ermera, Hatuloi). Keyvvords: Eucalyptus urophylla, leaf spot disease, provenance trial, resistency.
