Summary:Nosocomial infection is the infection that occurs in the hospital, not only experienced by patients, but also suffered by health care personnel or visitors of the hospital. The health care staff in taking care room of hospital who have high risk to be hit by nosocomial infection are: doctor, nurse, midwife and laboratory staff that check patient blood. Control program of nosocomial infection toward the health care staff in the hospital is very important to be done, considering that they always have direct contact with patients who are able to spread infection that is suffered. This research was an evaluative and descriptive type, using qualitative method. Collecting data was done through interviews in detail, distributing questionnaires to respondents, and direct observation of care taking room of the hospital. Data analysis used were content analysis technique, written in text form (descriptive) which comprisesd results of the interviews in detail, answers of questionnaires, and observation results (research finding), then compared to bibliography review, to know how far the difference between what it should be and facts that exist in the hospital, so that suggestion to improve the program was finally found out. From the result of the research, it was known, that the control program of nosocomial infection toward health care staff in care taking room of RSU PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta had been done, but it was not optimal yet. The control method of nosocomial infection in RSU PKU was based on Universal Precautions method or Universal Blood and Body Fluid Precautions, namely: 1) handling to keen objects, 2) preventing from patient contaminated body dilution, 3) usage of appliance self-protector, and 4) the health care staff cleaning their hands before and after medical treatment to patient.
