Description
Summary:ABSTRAk A turbulent diffusion flame established on a porous plate behind a backward facing step in a parallel air system was visualized experimentally. As a turbulence generator, a turbulent grid or a cylinder was located upstream of the step. Methane was used as fuel and injected uniformly through the porous plate burner. The visualization of the flame was performed by both direct and color schlieren photography. It is concluded that the flow around the flame is dominated by big scale of vortices and their complexities along spanwise direction increase as the air main velocity increases. Keywords: Turbulent difusion, a porous plate
