| Summary: | Prolonged labour is one of the main problems in obstetrics, which has a high morbidity and mortality risk to both mother and child -A predictive index for prop= longed labour has been compiled, based on the relative risk and strength of association of its determinant factors. Two sets ofdata have been used for this study. One for setting up the index, which then has been tried for its predictive capability on the other set. It has been proved that this index could become a means to select high-risk pregnancy in particular for predicting a greater risk of prolonged labour.
