This study focuses on the level of IKIP students interest on teacher profession and its relation with their academic achievement. Differences between gender, territory and parents profession were also investigatedThe subjects were 266 student of IKIP Surabaya. The data were obtained by an interest questionaire and from student's academic document. To analyze the data analysis of variance and regession analysis were used The findings showed : (1) a low level of student's interest on teacher profession, (2) no differences in student's interest between the sexes, territory and parent's profession, (3) a positive correlation between level of student's interest and student's academic achievement. Keywords: the level of student 's interest -- teacher profession -- academic achievement.
