Summary: | This study is carried out to objectively understand the poetic and the narrative structure of sinrilik Datumuseng as a complex as well as a dynamic structure. Besides, the study also aims at realizing the tradition and the process of oral transmission of sinrilik in Makassar literature.In terms of trying to go through the poetic and the narrative structure of sinrilic Datumuseng, the method and the technique of structural analysis has been undertaken. It is undertaken to carefully, accurately, specifically and profoundly disclose and explain the link and match of the elements and aspects that have brought forth the unity of meaning. In connection with the creative process and the oral delivery, the formula theory is applied. The theory states out that in producing oral literature, the producer makes use of the storage of formulas he masters as the creative power in producing oral literature.After having employed the theories and methods stated above, the study concludes the sinrilic Da turnuseng is of a unified and dense structure. The kind of structure is caused by the close relationship of integrated different elements. The unity of integrated different literary elements in the text of sinrilic that is built up by smaller and bigger ones shows a development within the net-system of the formula. The produces seemed to have mastered the technique of stage performance incorporated into the narrative structure whenever needed. The technique of repetition along with the repetition of words, phrases and lines in various performances as well as the repetition of descriptions about the parts of the story as formulas is employed to build up the story. The structure of the formulas is undertaken to make pasinrilik easier to compose the story and accordingly sinrilik might be easily played out.
