Description
Summary:ABSTRACT Mapping technology develops from many years ago until now, have a many mapping systems. After the year of 2001, the new technology of mapping is introduced by radar technology. Mapping in Indonesia, one year ago used the IFSAR system, on the area of Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, Maluku, Nusa TenggaraTimur, Papua etc (2003), The new generation mapping can be made with the Interferometric Syntetic Aperture Radar (IFSAR) by an airplane. The interferometric radar is a new system to make a precision and more accuracy map at this century, IFSAR is a radar technology that use for area mapping. IFSAR technology has two products : ORI and DES, those products are very useful for landscape information, because its are very precision and accurate map. The 3 D color of the map products should be helped for the company, whose want develops the country, for examples in: agriculture, forestry, resettlement, mining/ mineral/oil etc. IFSAR is a mapping system, which work in the microwave range: 5 MHz 20 MHz. The map product is a high precision and high accuracy map, the scale I: 15.000 - 1: 20,000, color, 3 dimensions. The two antennas are installed in the under fuselag of the airplane, its can receive a reflected signal from target. The precision of ORI is 1.25 meters resolution, and the DEM is 5 meters resolution. Keywords: Mapping, IFSAR, ORI & DSM
