In this study the PVDC activated carbon is caracterised by varying the compression of green body, i.e 100, 500, 1000 dan 1800 bars. To produce activated carbon, the green body is heated for pyrolisis process at temperature of 800 °C. The measurement of specific surface is carried out using Nitrogen gas adsorption at 77K, while its porosity is evaluated by Helium gas expansion at room temperature. The result shows that the green body compression of 1000 bars give superior properties compared to other experimental conditions were studied. The product give properties of Surface specific of 1000 m2/ gram and macroporous structure of 13 % volume.
