Hydrogeology Journal, V. 3, No. 2, p. 65 74. . .The main objective of this research is to study the influence of tourism activity towards the quality of unconfined groundwater in the beach ridge area of Pangandaran. Especially, this research means to know the correlation between total wastewater and the quality of unconfined groundwater. This research was conducted in the beach ridge area of Pangandaran having been developed into coastal tourism attraction, located east of the south coast of West Java. Administratively, it belong to Ciamis Regency, West Java Province. The research object was the quality of unconfined groundwater observed through 37 wells of research samples. The research parameter was that of water quality, including the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics, as the dependent variable while the total wastewater was used as the independent variable. The collected data has been analysed by statistical method through the regression procedure. From the regression analysis, the contribution tendency of influence from the total of wastewater towards the quality of unconfined groundwater in research area was infered. This result showed that the variable of total wastewater has significant influence on the quality of unconfined groundwater in this research area. The larger quantity of wastewater, the poore quality of the groundwater will be. Keywords: groundwater quality, beach ridge, tourism activity
