Pheno and genotyping of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from human skin infections in Yogyakarta
Eight Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from human skirt infections were identified and characterized by pheno- and genotypic methods. On the basis of cultural and biochemical properties as well as by amplification of a S. aureus specific section of the 23S rRNA gene, all isolates could be iden...

In addition, all S. aureus isolates harboured the genes clfA and coa encoding staphylococcal clumping factor and coagulase, and the gene segments encoding the immunoglobulin G binding region and the X -region of protein A gene spa. By PCR approach seven different genes i. e.: sea, seb, see, seg, seh, sei and eta were amplifiable. None of the S. aureus isolates harboured the genes encoding sec, sed, se), etb and tsst-1. All isolates were additionally positive for the genes nuc, fnbA, hla, and sell and negative for the genes fribB and hit,. The gene segments of cnaA and exaB could be observed in 5 cultures, the gene cap5 in 2 cultures and the gene cap8 in 6 cultures The phenotypic and genotypic results of the present study might help to understand the distribution of prevalent S. aureus clones among human skin infections and might help to control S. aureus infections in human.
