The research is intended to analyze the rules of ECOWAS (Economic Cooperation of West Africa States) as regional economic organization in West Africa. Even though that organization is founded in economic integration, but in a fact it is more active in security defense, especially in the management conflict resolution of the member countries of ECOWAS. The study based on the method of Library Research. Theoretically, secondary data come from selected books, magazines, newspapers, internet and other resources that are connected with this research. This study discovers that protracted social conflict in Liberia has made human suffering in civil Liberians and worried the neighbors countries because that conflict can spread to the neighbors countries. Finally, the research of the roles organization, shows that it succeeded to accomplish all of the reclaiming for settlement. It is because ECOWAS has played the role as mediator in this conflict and bringing eternal peace in Liberia. Key words: regional organization - international mediation - internal conflict.
