To solve this problem, an experimental study was carried out on female prostitutes in Yogyakarta. The prostitutes, who were microbiologically free from Neisseria gonorrhoeae, were randomly devided into two groups. The experimental group received the usual weekly mass treatment of 900p00 IU oil based penicillin and the control group received a placebo. After 3 months the result showed that PPNG was found in 11.11% of the experimental group and in 10.64% of the control group (p > 0.05).
