Cigar-tobacco bacterial wilt in Medan was controlled biologically with the use of rhizosphere bacteria which are antagonistic toward the pathogen (Ralstonia solanacearum). Field experiments were conducted using three isolates of fluorescent pseudomonad (Pf-20, Pf-28, and Pf-31), one isolate of Bacillus spp. (Ba-118), and its combinations. The best protection was obtained with isolate Pf-20 and its combination with Ba-118. Disease index in the plot treated with Pf-20 was 50 and leaves product was 2260 gram/plot. Meanwhile, in the plot treated with a combination of Pf-20 and Ba-118, the disease index slightly higher, i.e. 60 and the leaves product was 2306 gram/plot. On the other hand, the disease index was observed in the plot control (without treatment) as high as 90 and the leaves product was only 1199 gram/plot.
