Summary: | Background: At the dawn of free trade. foreign investors have an opportunity to build hospitals in Indonesia that result in high competition among hospitals. Hospitals need to find new ways for good operation which include marketing activity. Ministry of Health. Republic of Indonesia and World Health Organization reported an increase of life expectancy among Indonesians. Concomitantly, the number of cldery and degenerative diseases arc both increasing. As a result, medical treatment cost for such diseases could he so high. while preventive health care could he cheaper. The aim of the study was to examine factors needed to establish health service unit with mobile health care.
Methods: This study examined consumers' interest using non-experimental observation design. The tool was a questionnaire on patient/consumers' willingness to pay for health care service. To find out the cost of health service, we conducted group-discussion and in-depth interview. Payback period. Net Present Value (NPV). average return on investment (R01). and time adjustmen. were used to study economically reliahle operation.
Results: From the discussion and depth interviews, it was agreed that the prime form of health service is hoinecare to he offered to post-treated patients. out-patients. and healthy families visiting Bhakti Yudha Hospital. Based on payback period. NPV, and time-adjusted methods. the calculation showed that in the fourth year profit would he gained and in the Fifth years positive difference would he gained. in which the investment returns. The analysis of average ROI showed that the interest would he higher than one purposed. Theoretically, the analysis using the applied method would make it possible for mobile health service to he economically reliable. Respondents had given noted inputs. among others being expected the service should he directed toward costumer satisfaction, quality health service, as well fast, friendly. and patient/costumer-oriented service. at an affordable cost.
