The effort to improve it should be continuously done, including in the basic level of health service such as that in the community health center. The Health District of Sleman regency is an agency that has done a managerial intervention using Monitoring-Training-Planning (MTP), in the middle of 1999. The MTP strategy was conducted with the subject of lowering the use of antibiotics among acute respiratory infection cases. In this study, feedback intervention was held in an effort to keep the MTP effect on lowering the use of antibiotics among acute respiratory infec¬tion cases in the community health centers. Method: This was a quasi-experimental study using pre and post test approach, and was analyzed retrospectively. The analysis units were community health centers chosen randomly (18 community health centers) according to the study characteristics. The centers were di¬vided into 3 groups, 6 community health centers each. Group I and II that had received MTP guidance, while group III was group consisted of community health centers that had received Small Group Discussion (SGD) and MTP guidance. Group I did not get any feedback interven¬tion, group II and group III got feedback intervention. The observation was done for 6 months for pre-intervention and 6 months for post-intervention. The data from the study results were analyzed statistically using t-test and Anova. Result and Conclusions: The results showed that the evaluation of pre-intervention and post intervention use of antibiotics both in group I and group II showed significant decrease. Group III (the control group) showed significant increase. The effectiveness of decreasing use of antibiotics in group I was the same as that in group II. Compare with the MTP results, the evaluation of pre-intervention feedback of antibiotic data showed that the increase in group I, II and III was statistically not significant (p>0.05). this means that MTP was maintained until the pre-intervention feedback but the feedback of post-intervention data in group Ill increased significantly (p [Yogyakarta] : Universitas Gadjah Mada 2004 Article NonPeerReviewed Perpustakaan UGM, i-lib (2004) Pengaruh umpan balik dampak monitoring-trainingplanning (MTP) dalam pengobatan ISPA di Puskesmas Kabupaten Sleman = the effect of feedback of monitoring training planing (MTP) in the antibiotics in the acute respiratory.
