Summary: | Interoperability between systems in e-Gov in Indonesia is an important and urgent problem to be overcome. Data standardization policy is an effort towards interoperability, but it can also be a cause of the problem of interoperability in e-Gov applications. Efforts to standardize the data for the e-Gov system has been performed by several local and central government agencies, but since no clear framework of national guidelines, the majority of data standardization is still sectoral. This raises the new problems related to interoperability between systems in e-Gov. The new effort is needed in the task of develop a national data standards required by all agencies / sectors. Involvement of all agencies in the preparation of national data standards necessary to anticipate the various needs of multi-sectoral data and information. Communication and Information Ministry of Indonesia is the appropriate agency to carry out the task, because it has sufficient authority to the horizontal (coordination function) and vertically (control function). This paper discusses the policy of standardization of data and problems associated with the interoperability across systems in e-Gov, and its idea of a solution to the problem. |
