This study departs from the existing dynamics of social, economic, and policy changes in line with the development of people’s lives, especially in urban settlements. The research objectives are to examine changes in the typology of spatial configuration as a form of housing adaptation in the urban settlements of Yogyakarta City Center. The findings of this study are expected to enrich concepts/theories related to housing adaptation in urban center settlements, which can be a reference in developing urban settlements. This research used a qualitative approach based on a single case-embedded case study in a single location.
