| Summary: | This research was conducted at Pojok, Sleman and was to study the inheritance of resistance to Helminthosporium spot blotch and its correlation with some yield component traits. Disease severity was scored with 0-9 scale according
to Nagarajan and Kumar (1998). Yield component traits observed were days to flowering, days to maturity, pair of spikelets per spike, plant height, spike length, and number of seeds per spike. The result showed that resistance to Helminthosporium spot blotch in five populations: (CPN 2 x DWR 162), (CPN 2 x DWR 195), (CPN 1 x
WL 2265), (DWR 162 x HD 2189)J and (CPN 1 x DWR 195), was controlled by double recessive espistatic with 9 (susceptible) : 7 (resistant) ratio, contrary the resistance to Helminthosporium spot bloch in the other four population: (HD 2189 x
CPN 1), (CPN 2 x HD 2189), DWR 195 x CPN 1), and (DWR 195 x HD 2189) were exist.. Correlation coefficients between disease score and yield component traits were either not significant or low. |
