Description
Summary:ABSTRACT Wayang jekdong is an ancient shadow puppet performing art developed by the people and for the people living in villages in jombang. Majakerta. Sidoarjo. Gresik. Surabaya. Pasuruan. Lamongan. and Malang regencies. The performance of this traditional art is sustained in the tradition of a ritual ceremony called hajatan. This ceremony can be conducted by individuals. families. a group of families. or village institutions. Furthermore. this ceremony as well as the performance of Wayang jekdong can be sustained because of the tradition ofbuwuhan. i.e. giving contributions. under the system ofnyalapnyaur. i.e. giving and giving back. Therefore. for the shadow puppet master, social capital management Plays an important role in the sustainability of Wayang jekdong performance. The same is true for the people living in the above-mentioned places. who still sustain the hajatan tradition for the sake of reciprocity and social solidarity. Keywords: Wayang jekdong. ritual ceremony (hajatan). nyalap-nyaur (debt-repay). social capital. reciprocity
