Indonesia has many geothermal resources such as hot springs, sometimes the rate of flow from high temperature hot spring is not sufficient whereas in the same location there isanother hot spring with lower temperature whis is potential to drive absorption refrigeration system. Therefore in this ressearch we conduct experiments by utilizing two hot water sources, the secondary hot water sources (medium temperature) is used to heat the solution preheater and the primary hot water sources (high temperature) is used to heat the generator. In this experiments we compared the performances of absorption refrigeration system with solution preheater and without solution preheater. This experiments is conduct with a water-lithium bromide absorption system which is utilizing two hot water sources in different temperature. The secondary hot water source is used to heat rich solution which flow in a single pass anulus heat exchanger (solution preheater) before the solution entered generator. In this experiments we use a solution preheater in 1 meter length and the secondary hot water sources is vary from 55 oC to 70 oC. The simulation from previous experimental data shows that utilization of solution preheater can reduce generator heat load from 7% to 19% compared to normal generator heat load, and there is no significant difference of COP from both trial condition.
