Patients� aggression influenced the mental health of psychiatric nurses. Mental health of psychiatric nurses was an important part in the process of rehabilitation of patients . The aspects of mental health of psychiatric nurses had emotional aspects, psychological functions, and social functions. Psychological skills training in dealing with patients� aggression in this study were self-knowledge, self-acceptance, self-talk, emotion management, and therapeutic communication. This study aimed to examine the influence of psychological skills training in dealing with patients� aggression to improve mental health of psychiatric nurses. Thirty nurses (15 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group) participated in this quasi-experimental study. Analysis of data used a mixed Anova. This study showed a significant difference between levels of mental health in the experimental group compared to the control group (F = 12,630, p <0.05). The results showed that mental health of psychiatric nurses scores in experimental group were increased. Psychological skills training in dealing with patients� aggres sion contributed 31,1 % to improve the mental health of psychiatric nurses.
