Summary: | Sub Laweyan is one area in the city of Surakarta, which is urban areas
with a population density of 11,271 people/km2. In Sub Laweyan there are many
small-medium scale industries, especially the batik industry which incidentally
require large amounts of groundwater in their production processes as well as
many other industries that various kinds. Based on the fact that researchers
interested in conducting research on the use of groundwater for domestic and
small-medium scale industries and the quality of groundwater used for domestic
needs in the District Laweyan Surakarta. The purpose of this research are 1)
studying the use of groundwater for domestic and small-medium scale industries
in the District Laweyan Surakarta. 2) analyze the quality of groundwater for
domestic needs in the District Laweyan Surakarta.
The population in this study is the head of household in District Laweyan
totaling 25,597 households, and 578 units of small-medium enterprises. The
sample in this study that there are three groundwater samples from 5 wells taken
with the method of sampling area, 128 groundwater samples for the needs of
domestic respondents and 30 samples of groundwater for industrial needs. There
are two research variable is the quality of groundwater and the volume of water
use in the District Laweyan community.
The results showed that the need for groundwater for domestic purposes in
the District Laweyan Surakarta is 183 liter / capita / day and the use of
groundwater for domestic purposes in the District Laweyan Surakarta in 2010
amounted to 7,353,795.53 m3. While the use of groundwater for small-medium
scale industries in the District Laweyan Surakarta in 2010 amounted to
910,173.50 m3. To test the groundwater quality of all tested parameters there are
two parameters that do not qualify because it has content that is greater than the
standard total coliform and total phenols. For total coliform of 5 average
groundwater samples contain> 1600MPN/100ml while the phenol content of
between 0.0215 to 0.0254 mg / L of the standard 0.01 mg / L.
