One of the source of B3 waste in Makassar city is Barawaja steel industry. In steel melting process, the industry produces iron slag waste from iron melting residue as a bottom product of wet scrubber catched. Every month Barawaja steel industry produces 40 ton iron slag waste without any treatment again. Besause that the researcher feels very interisting to utilize this waste to paving block. The purposes of this research are to identify the characteristics of iron slag waste which is safe for used as an aggregate subtitution in paving block production and to find out the relationship between iron slag percentage with paving block strenght, porosity, and wearing out. The paving block materials used are sand and split from Bili- Bili Makassar river, fine and coarse iron slag from PT. Barawaja Makassar, and portlnad cement type I. Variation of compotitions in this research are 100;0 (F) + 100;0 (Cr), 60;40 (F) + 40;60 (Cr), 40;60 (F) + 60;40 (Cr), 20;80 (F) + 80;20 (Cr), and 0;100 (F) + 100;0 (Cr), with the test variables are TCLP, paving block strenght, porosity, and wearing out. The result of paving block TCLP test said that paving block has a lower value of the heavy metal compound than SNI requirement limit, so it is safe for used in environment. The result of this research found the best condition for paving block strenght, porosity, and wearing out in experiment 4, that is consist of 20% sand + 80% fine iron slag + 80% split and 20% coarse iron slag. The value of paving block strenght, porosity, and wearing out in experiment 4 are 283,33 kg/cm2 , 5,9%, and 0.6288 mm/minute.
