Description
Summary:Affandi street is one of the well known commercial area in Yogyakarta which has a big contribution to the economic development of Yogyakarta. As a commercial area, Affandi street should provide the comfort to the people while they do all economic activities that will affect the time lag of economic activities it self. Outdoor thermal comfort is the important thing should be provided in commercial area because the quality of thermal comfort will affect human behavior on site. The quality of outdoor thermal comfort will be preceived by pedestrian as the subject of economic activities along this street so that it is important to study the thermal comfort in order to improve the thermal sensation by a design guideline. The method used in this research is the simulation method using envi-MET 3.1 with empirical measurement. This method will simulate the value of each variable of climate on three selected point along the Affandi street. Then the thermal comfort will be calculated by comfort calculator based on that values. The result of this research are the value of existing thermal comfort and the main factor of climate variables that affect the thermal comfort it self. Those results will be used to find the design guidelines that can improve the quality of thermal comfort.
