Summary: | Phonological awareness is the best predictor of initial reading success in children (Adam,et al in Blischack, 2004). Children who have phonological disorders have low phonological awareness and have an impact on academic progress when entering elementary school, such as reading difficulties. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of integrated phonological awareness training in phonological awareness and to decrease the error in producing voices (articulation) of single word for children who have phonological disorders. Subject in this experiment were 7 years old who suffered phonological disorders. Interventions provided is phonological awareness training that is integrated with speech therapy. Phonological awareness material consists of 3 aspects: phoneme segmentation, phoneme blending, and phoneme manipulation. The total time required to conduct the training is 7 weeks. The data analysis technique performed by wilcoxon matched pairs signed ranks test, a visual inspection and qualitative analysis based on behavioral approaches (Response Antecendents Consequences-Strength). As a result, an integrated phonological awareness training can improve phonological awareness to the aspects of phoneme manipulation and reduce errors in speech articulation to child of phonological disorder |
