Sasongko Pramono H., DEA. ETD Voice Over IP ( VoIP ) is a technology that have ability to do the conversation phone by using band of data communications at one particular network. The way of this technology is change voice become digital format which can be delivered through network IP. VoIP server is needed to build the communications of VoIP network. There are two kinds of VoIP servers used in this study. The first server is Briker version 1.2.2. Briker is an Ubuntu linux distro specifically designed to be a VoIP server. Second VoIP Server used is Asterisk 1.4 installed on FreeBSD 8.1. The difference in the operating system platform is what the writer wanted to learn whether there is an effect on the performance of VoIP systems are built. Steps being taken in this study is to measure some parameter values of Quality of Service (QoS), ie, delay, jitter and packet loss from both VoIP server using Wireshark software. The measurement is done with a few conditions on the network traffic, namely the no-load conditions, web browsing traffic, uploading traffic and downloading traffic. The next stage is to calculate the MOS value using values derived from measurement results with the E-model method. Based on measurement of system implementation has been done in this research, the use of traffic on the network caused the deterioration of VoIP QoS for both servers. Asterisk VoIP server installed on FreeBSD has the QoS and MOS values are better than Briker VoIP server.
