Description
Summary:Bandarmasih municipal waterworks as a fresh water managing company in Banjarmasin City was required to be able to continuously and reliably satisfy the need for quality fresh water and to secure the necessary quantity of the water that fulfilled the existing requirements. Therefore, it was necessary for the company to formulate working program, budget and strategic plan in making an investment in the effort to provide people with best service. Banjarmasin Selatan subdistrict as the development area of Banjarmasin City required better fresh water service. However, the fresh water service has not been delivered as expected because of the increasing number of the population, the development of housings and industries. The study was conducted by processing primary data resulting from the questionnaire of customers satisfaction and secondary data resulting from the interview with the director of the municipal waterworks, the staffs of finance, administration and technical departments. It aimed at appraising the performance of the municipal waterworks using the Decision of Internal Affairs Minister Number 74 of 1999 and by qualitatively and quantitatively analyzing the customers satisfaction. The methods to determine the investment feasibility were net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), benefit cost ratio (BCR), and sensitivity analysis. The results of the analysis showed that the performance of the Bandarmasih municipal waterworks of Banjarmasin City was sufficient in the financial, operational and administration aspects. An investment was necessary to make in satisfying the need of Banjarmasin Selatan subsdistrict and the results of the feasibility analysis of the improvement of the services of the municipal waterworks in 10 years included the addition of 2 units of distribution pumps and their accessories and it was worth of Rp. 5,271,178,728.00,-. Based on the results of the feasibility analysis the IRR value was 18% (>12%), BCR 1,12 (>1 feasible), NPV Rp. 21.313.897.640 (+). The sensitivity analysis was indicative of a feasible investment.
