Summary:This research aims to test the influence of concentration and types of ownership on performance and risk-taking of Indonesian nonfinancial firms listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange. Sample period is 2005 to 2009, obtained sample 171 firms with 145 observation.This research concludes that there is positively significant influence of ownership concentration on performance and negatively to the market risk which showed by ROA and Beta, but insignificant to ROE, market to book and Tobin Q. Ownership types attribute to foreign, group and government. Group owned firms, in contrast to foreign owned firms, seem to have significant influence to the performance showing by ROA and Tobin Q. Government-owned firms which privatized by nation, on the contrary with hypothesis, have positively influence to the performance and negatively to the market risk.
